Andrei Nikolayevich Kotelnik ( Ukrainian Andriy Mikolayovich Kotelnik ; December 29, 1977 , Lviv , Ukraine ) - Ukrainian boxer - professional , who performed in the light weight category. Winner of the 2000 Olympics. Former world champion in the 1st welterweight version of WBA , weight class. In Western Europe, better known as Andreas Kotelnik .

In October 2004, Kotelnik disputed a separate decision in the eliminator Suleyman Mbey .

In July 2005, he lost on points to Junior Witter .

In March 2008, a fight was fought in the UK between Andrei Kotelnik and the WBA 1st Welterweight Champion, British Gavin Rhys . At the end of the battle, the Briton “wiped out” - in the 12th round he could hardly stand on his feet. At the end of the 12th round, Kotelnik made several hooks to the opponent’s head. Rice began to clinch, and then fell. The referee did not consider this a knockdown. Kotelnik immediately attacked the champion. He ran a right hook to the head. The referee, seeing that Rhys is not fighting off, immediately stopped the fight. Kotelnik won by TKO. ^[2]

2014

On October 4, 2014, at the Arena Lviv , he held a farewell fight against the Georgian boxer Alexander Benidze, defeating the latter by unanimous decision of the judges with a score of (80-71, 80-71, 80-71).
