In March 2008, a fight was fought in the UK between Andrei Kotelnik and the WBA 1st Welterweight Champion, British Gavin Rhys . At the end of the battle, the Briton “wiped out” - in the 12th round he could hardly stand on his feet. At the end of the 12th round, Kotelnik made several hooks to the opponent’s head. Rice began to clinch, and then fell. The referee did not consider this a knockdown. Kotelnik immediately attacked the champion. He ran a right hook to the head. The referee, seeing that Rhys is not fighting off, immediately stopped the fight. Kotelnik won by TKO. [2]
