Four classic novels

Four classic novels ( Chinese.四大 名著, pinyin sìdàmíngzhù, letters. "Four Great Creations") - a stable name for the four most famous novels of the Chinese literary tradition :

  • " Three Kingdoms " (XIV century.)
  • " River backwaters " (ca. XV century.)
  • " Journey to the West " (XVI century.)
  • “The Dream in the Red Tereme ” (XVIII century)

Before the creation of “The Dream in the Red Tower”, the fourth great novel was considered “ Plum Flowers in a Golden Vase ” (1610).
