Results (program)

The decision to create the “Results” was made in October 1991 , after the departure of Evgeny Kiselyov, Oleg Dobrodeev and several other employees from the Vesti program. The program began to air on Ostankino ’s 1st channel on Sundays at 22:00 with a clock of 45 minutes since January 1992 ^[16] and was produced by the Ostankino Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Information Agency. When the program was just being created, Yevgeny Kiselyov called in his friend and colleague, director Alexei Tsyvarev , who formed the bulk of the directing and editing team, with some changes that existed until the closing of “Itogi” ^[17] . On September 19, 1993, the program was last aired on Ostankino Channel 1, after which its production was transferred to Itogi LLP and NTV Television Company LLP (Information Service of NTV Television Company LLP) ^{[18] [19]} .

Since October 10, 1993, the program aired on the St. Petersburg Channel Five on Sundays at 22:00 in the airtime allocated on the fifth button ^{[20] [21]} . The first issue of the “Results” of NTV production was dedicated to the events of October 3-4 of the same year , the political crisis in Russia ^[22] . On January 17, 1994, after the transition of the fourth channel of the television company, NTV began to air on this frequency on Sundays at 21:00 ^[6] .

According to television critics (in particular, Henri Vartanov ), the Itogi program for most viewers looked like a benchmark for the depth and objectivity of political analysis ^[23] , but at the same time it was very personal ^[18] . Most often, its author and presenter expressed his own position through objective data or through a comprehensive, rigorous analysis ^[18] . At Ostankino, the host often held a pro-Yeltsin position, which was criticized by some politicians ^[18] . The president of Russia Boris Yeltsin twice came to the program, the first time on March 8, 1992, when the question of impeachment was raised, the second time on June 9, 1996 ^[24] , before the presidential election ^[25] . Other prominent political figures in Itogi included Mikhail Gorbachev , Bill Clinton ^[26] , Richard Nixon , Margaret Thatcher , Tony Blair , Benjamin Netanyahu and Ariel Sharon ^[27] .

In 1995 - 1996, the Itogi program appeared in hourly timekeeping. In 1997, the timing of the program was increased to 2 hours. New headings appeared - exclusive information “Results. Preface ” ^[28] (aired separately at 18:00, timekeeping 40 minutes), exclusive report“ Profession - reporter ”(since 1998 aired as a separate program, timekeeping - 30 minutes), exclusive news“ Event of the week ” and exclusive interview “Results. Night conversation ” ^[28] (aired separately at 23:50, timing - 30 minutes). Also, the application “Results. Sport ”and the replay of the program“ Yesterday at the End ”. Appendix “Results. Sport ”aired from December 1997 to September 1998 from the 21st studio of Ostankino, on the night of Sunday to Monday at 0:45 ^{[29] [30] [31]} . Also, the heading from March to September 1998 was aired separately on the morning or afternoon of Monday on the NTV-Plus Sport satellite channel ^[32] . Prior to the opening of the “transformer studio” in Ostankino’s 11th studio, “Itogi” widely practiced telebridges with Russian politicians from the center of Moscow, who were in the Rossiya studio ^{[33] [34]} , as well as special broadcast bridges with several political figures at the same time ^{[35] [36]} , located in different television studios or cities ^[37] .

In 1999, due to Evgeny Kiselyov’s trip to the Swiss forum ^[38], one issue of the “Results” was conducted by their consultant Grigory Krichevsky ^{[39] [40] [41]} . Sociological polls constantly appeared in the program, where respondents were asked who they would vote for in the elections if they would take place this Sunday ^{[38] [42]} . For the first time on Russian television, infographics appeared on a dynamic background (while on other channels, similar works always came out with a frozen background). The proverb “Vox populi - vox dei” (Rus. Voice of the people - the voice of God ) was used in the cap ^[38] . The program often featured stories and special reports of correspondents on the first and second Russian-Chechen wars and the situation in the Caucasus as a whole ^{[43] [44] [45] [46] [47] [48] [49]} .

Since the spring of 1999, the distinctive feature of “Itogi” was the constant overshoot: the program duration exceeded almost twice that stated in the printed program guide, as a result of which it delayed all subsequent films and broadcasts ^{[50] [51] [52] [ 53] [54]} . Since May 30, 1999, Itogi began to regularly publish plots with sharp criticism of the environment of President Boris Yeltsin (called the "Family") ^[55] . In particular, there was a report from the television broadcast on July 18, 1999, which said that the head of the presidential administration, Alexander Voloshin and Boris Berezovsky, were involved in financial fraud with the AVVA concern and Chara-Bank ^[56] .

In September 1999, the issue of “Results. Night conversation ”, and interviews began to appear both in the preserved“ Preface ”(in November 1999, one of its broadcasts was completely given under the interview of Kiselev with Alexander Solzhenitsyn ) ^[57] , and in the main issue. At the beginning of 2000, Itogi began to be released with only one issue at 19:00 ^{[58] [59] [60]} - without attachments, but with repetition the next day. At the beginning of 2001, the author’s exclusive commentary “ Leonid Parfyonov ’s Special Look” ^{[61] [62]} and the section “Results - 10 years” were added to the program. In the section “Results - 10 years”, Evgeni Kiselev suggested that the audience remember what they were talking about and what they showed in the “Results” in one strictly taken month of the year from 1992 to 2000 ^[63] . The most interesting fragments of correspondent reports and infographics (survey results) from programs of different years were used ^[64] . In addition, a weekly weather forecast began to appear at the end of the broadcasts of the program ^[65] .

During the capture of NTV, one issue of the program was released on April 15, 2001 on TNT at 18:00 under the title “Results on TNT” ^{[66] [67]} .

After the change of ownership of Media Most at the end of April 2001, the program moved to TV-6 , but with an hour of time (then an hour and a half) ^[68] , also without applications, but with repetition. The name and surname of the author and presenter began to appear in the headband of the program and announcements in print media ^[69] . The first issue on the sixth button was aired on April 22, 2001, when correspondents, directors, and editors were not yet full-time employees of the channel ^[70] . The first broadcasts of the program on TV-6 were broadcast at 19:00, as well as on NTV ^{[71] [72]} (until May 13, 2001 - without mentioning in printed television programs, the broadcasting schedule was 2 weeks in advance) ^{[73] [ 74] [75]} , from May 27, 2001 she went out at 21:00 ^{[76] [77]} , from September 9, 2001 - again at 19:00 ^[78] . The order to broadcast the program was signed by the then Deputy Director General of TV-6 Alexander Oleinikov ^[79] .

In September 2001, according to TNS opinion polls in Moscow, Itogi became the most popular Sunday informational and analytical program, ahead of NTV's Vremya , NTV's Recently, RTR 's Zerkalo and Vesti Nedeli ^[80] .

In January 2002, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the first release of the Itogi television program, TV-6 broadcasted the video Itogi - 10 years on the air. According to the scenario of the video, stylized as James Bond films , Yevgeny Kiselyov, who is far from the television center in Ostankino , must urgently go on the air and, despite all the obstacles of the attackers, copes with the brilliance ^[5] . The video was voiced by Alexey Kolgan , imitating the voiceover of foreign films of the 1980s-1990s.

After the closure of TV-6, the program was aired on Echo of Moscow radio for some time, and on June 2, 2002, Itogi was aired on TVS , which won a frequency contest where TV-6 was broadcast until the last day. At the same time, dramatic changes have occurred in the program: the transmission has become twice as long (compared to the previous timing) and much more diverse in form. New headings were also invented, and not all political ones (for example, “Week in History”). And after the closure of the Voice of the People , Hero of the Day programs and applications, it acquired the character of a talk show ^{[81] [82]} .

In the first issues of the TVS program in her studio there was an extras ^[83] , which the presenter periodically involved in discussing relevant topics ^{[84] [85]} . It was abandoned at the end of June, after which the program again began to go out without spectators, but in the same 5th studio of Ostankino. Now one public, political or cultural figure came to the broadcast, with whom the host discussed the topics of the week between the reports of the channel’s correspondents. Telephone transmissions with three possible answers to one of the key topics of the week ^[86] , as well as ratings of political parties ^[87], were saved on TVS.

The last issue of “Itogi” before the closure of the TVS was broadcast on June 8, 2003, since the “Itogi” program was not aired on June 15 due to the Day of Russia celebrated on June 12 ^[88] , and the last release in the history of the program was scheduled for June 22 did not go on air due to the expected closing date of the channel. In it, Yevgeny Kiselyov and the Itogi brigade wanted to say goodbye to the audience who had watched this program for 11 years ^[89] , and also to read Joseph Brodsky 's poem “Letters to a Roman Friend” ^[90] .

After the closure of the TVS and the dissolution of his creative team, Yevgeny Kiselyov began to lead the author’s final program live on Echo of Moscow radio and RTVi . She was “Wings of Meditation” (from February 2004 to December 2006) and “ Power with Eugene Kiselev ” (from December 15, 2006 to September 18, 2009) ^[91] .

Over the entire period of its existence on television, the Itogi program, Yevgeny Kiselyov, has become a real blacksmith's shop for reporters ^[92] . Throughout its existence on the air, the program culminated in a demonstration of captions ^[102] indicating the entire crew, until 1994, the names of correspondents and observers who worked on the issue were also indicated. Unlike the “Today” program of the old NTV and the news programs of the late TV-6 and TVS channels, in “Results” each appearance of the correspondent in the frame was accompanied by the appearance of a plate with his name and surname.
