Biography

Princeton graduated, where he was noticed by Joyce Carol Oates . Changed a few classes. He published a number of short stories in The New York Times, The New Yorker, etc. He composed an anthology of poetry and prose, inspired by Joseph Cornell 's works , “The Match of Birds” ( 2001 ). By order of the Berlin State Opera, he composed the libretto of the opera “Seven Attempted Escapes From Silence”, the music of which was written by 7 composers from different countries, music consultant Isabelle Mundry ( 2005 ) [3] .

Lives in Brooklyn with his wife, writer Nicole Krauss , and two children.

Recognition

Foer's first novel is connected with the events of the Holocaust , the second - from September 11 . Both of them were highly appreciated by critics and famous writers - Salman Rushdi , John Updike , Cynthia Ozik , Isabelle Allende , were awarded several awards, translated into European languages.
