Sharypovsky district

Sharypovsky district is an administrative-territorial unit ( district ) and a municipal entity ( municipal district ) in the western part of the Krasnoyarsk Territory of Russia .

The administrative center is the city of Sharypovo (not part of the district).

Geography

The region stretches 110 kilometers from south to north, and 75 kilometers from east to west. The area is 3764 km².

Adjacent territories:

  • North: Bogotolsky district
  • East: Nazarovsky and Uzhursky districts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory
  • south: Republic of Khakassia
  • west and northwest: Kemerovo region .

The Uryup River (a tributary of the Chulym ) and its tributary Beresh (where the Berezovsky reservoir is located) flows through the territory of the district. Also here are the lakes White, Big and Small.

History

May 12, 1941 in the Khakass Autonomous Region was formed Sharypovsky district with its center in the village of Sharypovo. The structure of the district includes village councils: Bereshsky, Dubininsky, Edetsky, Ivanovsky, Kadatsky, Nikolsky, Sorokinsky, Temrinsky, Sharypovsky and Shushensky, allocated from the Beryozovsky district , Bolshe-Ozersky, Kosolozhensky, Kostinsky, Malo-Ozersky, Mozharsky, Oraksky and Parninsky from the Saralinsky district [4] .

In 1947, the Sharypovsky district was transferred directly to the subordination of the Krasnoyarsk Territory .

In 1981, the Berezovsky and Novoaltatsky village councils of the Nazarovsky district were transferred to the Sharypovsky district.

    Economics

    The region’s economy is mainly represented by agriculture (grain cultivation and meat and dairy farming).

    The district is a significant element of the fuel and energy complex of the region - there is a large coal mining enterprise OAO Razrez Berezovsky-1 (4.9 million tons / year), which is a fuel supplier to the Berezovskaya TPP .

    Culture

    The largest local media are the weekly “Your Chance”, the television and radio company “Chance”, and the newspaper “Lights of Siberia”. There are 34 cultural and leisure institutions, 30 libraries, 1 art school in the Sharypovsky district.

    Attractions

    In 2005, the remains of the oldest stegosaurus living 170-165 million years ago ( Jurassic period ) [27] were found 5 km from Nikolsk in the Berezovsky coal mine [26 ] , and in 2011, the remains of a Middle Jurassic mammal ( Batian , 168.3 —166.1 million years ago) from the genus Sineleutherus ( Sineleutherus ), isolated as a separate species Sineleutherus issedonicus [28] ., Holy spring near the village of Big Lake
