Biography

One of the founders of the group Aria. In 1985, Alexander recorded drums for the first album of Aria , Mania Velichia . In 1986, Alexander Lvov leaves the group.

In 1987 he became one of the founders of the Gorky Park group. The group also included: Nikolai Noskov - vocals, songwriter, Alexey Belov - guitar, arranger and author of most songs, Alexander "Yan" Yanenkov rhythm guitar and Alexander Minkov - bass, backing vocals. According to Stas Namin: “I had several candidates for the role of drummer. And first of all, it was the drummer of the same Cruise Sergey Efimov - at that time the brightest in Moscow. But at some point, the sound engineer of the Flowers group, Alexander Lvov, approached me and asked me to try it on drums in the Gorky Park group. Lviv used to be a hard rock drummer, but Alexander Kryukov worked in my group, who was much more talented and professional than Lviv. Therefore, Lviv was sitting at the sound desk. I gave him several weeks to restore the equipment and show what I am capable of. As a result, Lviv really worked day and night and pretty well played in the audition. At the same time, the “Cruise” drummer, although he was much stronger in all respects, was very emotional and unrestrained in character. And I knew Lviv from work in “Flowers” as calm and stable ” [1] .

In 1988, the group recorded a demo album “ Hit me with the news ” in Moscow. The demo included the songs “ I'm out ”, “ Modern love ”, “ You not lonely girl ”, “ I'm Gonna Make It ” and others. The record was heard by American producers and offered to issue a contract with the group for the release of a full-length album in the United States at PolyGram . Gorky Park 's debut self-titled album was a great success. The song " Bang " for some time was one of the three leaders in the charts on the American MTV. In many countries, the disc received the status of "Golden" and "Platinum".

After the first deafening success, the first serious troubles fell on the group. Due to misunderstanding within the group, the singer left the band Nikolai Noskov. The next major blow for the Park was the death of their American manager, who was involved in all the organizational affairs of the group. Gorky Park was in a very difficult situation. Large concert tours began to take place less frequently, large major offices began to bypass the group, attention from the public also began to fade.

However, the musicians did not break and continued to work. They did not search for a new vocalist. All the main vocal parts began to be performed by Alexander Minkov (who later gained fame under the pseudonym "Marshal"). In 1992, the group recorded the album Gorky Park 2 ( Moscow Calling ), which, although it did not regain its former glory in America, was a great success in several European countries, Scandinavia and Russia. In 1996, Alexander Lvov created the company MIR Records (Made in Russia Records), founded by a group in Los Angeles . There, the collective recorded material for the albums Stare (1996) and Protivofazza (1998); both discs were published exclusively in Russia and the CIS countries.

In 1998, the group begins to prepare a new "Russian" album, which was never released. At concerts, songs began to sound in Russian, "At the Cusp of the Candle" and "Trouble." In 1999, the team broke up.

In 2004, Alexander Lvov participated in the recording and mixing of the album “ 33 Lives ” of the group “ Master ”.

In 2006, an attempt was made to revive Gorky Park. As part of a series of solo concerts by Nikolai Noskov dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the singer, the Gorky Park group also acted as special guests. The concerts were attended by all musicians of the classical composition of the group, except for Alexander Marshall. In May 2008, at the initiative of Autoradio and after a series of negotiations conducted by Alexander Varin and Yuri Kostin, the group gathered again. The team performed with a small solo set on the Vasilievsky Descent of the Moscow Kremlin in the framework of the festival dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the radio station.
