They live in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region of Tajikistan (mainly in the villages of Ryn and Sumchin in the Ishashim village in the Ishkashim district of GBAO ) and in Afghanistan (on the left bank of the Upper Pyanj river in Afghan Badakhshan , in the Sanglich region, where sanglitch speakers of Sanglich language are distinguished (dialect) ).
