History
The history of the holding dates back to June 1992, when the joint-stock company Moscow Telecommunications Corporation (JSC Comcor) was formed.
In 1995, OJSC Komkor (which was then owned by Moscow CableCom Corp.) established a subsidiary CJSC Komkor-TV, a telecom operator that had been providing services under its own name until 2005, and since 2005, under the Akado brand [1] .
In October 2004, the owner of 33.9% of the share capital of Moscow CableCom Corp., which owned 100% of the shares of Komkor-TV, became the structures of Viktor Vekselberg, chairman of the board of directors of the Renova group [2] . By July 2007, Renova increased its stake in Moscow CableCom Corp. up to 100% [3] .
In June 2006, Renova announced the creation of Renova Media to consolidate its media and telecommunications assets [4] .
In March 2008, Renova-Media was renamed to ZAO Akado, and on April 4, 2008 Komkor-TV to Akado-Stolitsa [5] [6] .
In 2012, the group of companies began the transition to the use of the single Akado Telecom trademark by its subsidiary operators in Moscow and St. Petersburg: in July, Moscow companies ZAO Akado-Stolitsa and OAO Komkor announced rebranding [7] , in December - St. Petersburg CJSC "TKS" Neva " [8] .

Mergers and Acquisitions
In 2006–2008, the Renova holding acquired a number of telecommunication companies, which later became part of Akado.
In March 2006, the holding acquired a controlling stake in the Moscow cable television operator Teleinform [9] .
In May 2006, the holding acquired 50% of the authorized capital of the Belarusian cable television operator Kosmos-TV LLC [10] .
At the end of 2006 - the beginning of 2007, two Moscow Internet providers were acquired: in December 2006 - Mig-Telecom [11] , in January 2007 - Corporation. EXE [12] .
In July 2007, the Ortikor Installation and Operation Enterprise LLC was acquired, providing cable television services to residents of several Ekaterinburg districts [13] . At the same time, it was announced that the holding company was acquiring the operator Neva TV, CJSC, which provides cable television services in St. Petersburg [14] .
In March 2008, the holding acquired the Moscow Internet provider Telecommunication Corporation RA LLC (Crossnet trademark) [15] . It was also announced that the holding acquired an Internet provider, ZAO Ikar Invest (trademark Netol K °), formed in November 2006 as a result of the merger of three Internet service providers operating in Zelenograd and Solnechnogorsk - Gorset, Zelan "and" Suns " [16] .
In August 2008, the holding acquired Ekaterinburg Internet provider LLC Olympus NSP [17] .
In October 2011, a transaction was carried out to acquire 100% of the authorized capital of Sertolovskoe Television LLC, the only cable television operator in the city of Sertolovo (including the Chernyaya Rechka microdistrict) of the Leningrad Region . The operator has worked since 2003, at the time of the acquisition, the subscriber base was 6.6 thousand people, and the coverage was more than 11 thousand apartments [18] .

Performance Indicators
According to the results of 2008, the growth of “Akado” revenue in accordance with IFRS amounted to 52% - from $ 205.4 million in 2007 to $ 312.4 million in 2008. EBITDA in 2008 increased by 120% from $ 29.365 million in 2007 to $ 64.505 million in 2008. At the same time, EBITDA margin increased from 14% to 21%. The gross income of the group grew by 102% - from $ 67.9 million in 2007 to $ 136.9 million in 2008 [20] .
According to the results of 2009, the revenue of “Akado” in accordance with IFRS amounted to 14% - from 7.76 billion rubles. in 2008 to 8.86 billion in 2009. EBITDA in 2009 increased by 39% from 1.60 billion in 2008 to 2.23 billion in 2009. At the same time, EBITDA margin increased from 20.6% to 25.2% [21] .
According to the results of 2010, the revenue of “Akado” in accordance with IFRS amounted to 19% - from 8.86 billion rubles. in 2009 to 10.56 billion rubles. EBITDA increased by 64% from 2.23 billion rubles in 2009 to 3.65 billion rubles. EBITDA margin increased from 25.2% to 34.6%. The total number of subscribers - individuals serviced by the operating companies of the holding amounted to more than 2.7 million. In 2010, the consolidated subscriber base of pay TV increased by 10.5% to 511.7 thousand. Number of active subscribers of broadband access services Internet increased by 8.15% to 618.9 thousand. At the end of 2017, the company won a contract to provide communication to the executive authorities of Moscow. In addition, within the framework of a state contract with the Department of Information Technologies of Moscow, the operator has equipped about 700 buildings of educational institutions of the capital with the infrastructure of the Moscow e-school for organizing students and teachers access to the digital educational environment. Under the terms of the contract, the company will ensure the smooth operation of the infrastructure until 2023. AKADO Telecom has been implementing a project since 2017 as part of the implementation of the state capital programs Information City and Development of Education in the City of Moscow. AKADO participates in other large-scale urban projects aimed at creating the most comfortable urban environment using “smart” technologies, in particular, the company is developing a city video surveillance system, video analytics, industrial Internet of things, innovative technologies in medicine. - OJSC Komkor (trademark Akado Telecom) (74.76% of shares from Akado, 12.7% from Milroy International Invest Ltd., 12.54% from the Government of Moscow [23] ) provides services to legal entities under the Akado-Telecom trademark [24] ;
- SOOO " Cosmos TV " (50% of the share capital of Akado, 50% of the Republic of Belarus represented by the State Committee on Property of the Republic of Belarus) provides services in Belarus [10] .

Akado Telecom operates on the basis of a hybrid fiber-coaxial network . The coaxial part of the network is designed according to the DOCSIS 1.1 and EuroDOCSIS standards. This standard allows for one-cable to provide multi-service services, such as digital cable ( DVB-C standard) and terrestrial television, digital broadcasting, telephony, broadband Internet access. In 2011–2012 [ clarify ] DOCSIS 2.0 has been implemented. In some areas of Moscow, due to the connection of already existing networks, Internet access is provided via Fast Ethernet technology.
Internet access
All subscribers are assigned an internal (gray) static IPv4 . IPv6 is not supported. TCP / IP settings are assigned by the provider via DHCP .
In DOCSIS networks, authorization occurs by the MAC address and serial number of the cable modem , as well as the MAC address of the CPE . As a rule, CPE is a subscriber’s computer or router .
To prevent the spread of viruses, ports 137–139, 445 ( SMB ) are blocked. DNS queries (port 53) are allowed only on Akado’s own servers. In email applications, the SMTP server (port 25) should be mail.akado.ru . All outgoing emails are scanned for malicious code. When you connect to the service "external ip" the above restrictions are removed.
Criticism
The company has been criticized for telephone spam; A company representative answered the question of how to get rid of telephone spam and answered: “Just connect, finally” [26] . The Federal Antimonopoly Service issued an order to the operator to terminate calls [27] .
According to Roskomnadzor statistics, in 2009, “Akado” leads by a large margin in the number of citizens' complaints among all telecom operators [28] .
In September 2011, the Moscow OFAS Russia fined Akado-Stolitsa company for 300 thousand rubles for the illegal distribution of advertising by telephone [29] . But telephone calls are still ongoing. [ when? ]
