Breda Ba.88 Lynx ( Italian: Breda Ba.88 Lince ) is a ground attack aircraft used by Regia Aeronautica ( Italian Air Force ) during World War II . Despite the perfect design for its time, a very short time was produced due to the workload of the Italian aviation industry.

Designed in 1936. It was an all - metal monoplane with two motors. An experienced aircraft made its first flight in October of that year. The prototype was with a single-tail tail unit, had a retractable chassis with a tail wheel and two 900-liter Gnome-Rhone K-14 star-shaped engines. with., and then was equipped with a modified two-keel tail. Later, in 1937, the Piaggio P.XI RC.40 star-shaped engines with a capacity of 1000 liters were installed. s .. The first batch of aircraft - 88 pieces - were assembled in 1939. In June 1940, the aircraft took part in hostilities in France, as an attack aircraft of airfields. Insufficient engine power and other technical flaws significantly limited the possibility of using aircraft. By 1943, their release was discontinued. Until the end of the war, the Breda Ba.88 Lince was used most often as a false target at Italian airfields (with engines and weapons removed) and, in rare cases, as reconnaissance aircraft.
