Flag of Nizhny Novgorod Region

On August 4, 2005, the law stated that: “the flag is made without fringe and its shaft is not decorated with a spear tip, and also with tassels on twisted cords”, except for its use in the offices of officials. ^[2]

On December 20, 2006, the provision on the symbols of Nizhny Novgorod was approved, which established a common description of the flag for all cases:

“The flag of the city of Nizhny Novgorod is a rectangular white cloth with a ratio of width to length 2: 3. In the center of the cloth is a figure from the coat of arms of the city of Nizhny Novgorod, 4/5 of the flag width: the black deer, horns, eyes and hooves going to the pole are black. ” ^[3]

The flag of the city of Nizhny Novgorod is a classic coat of arms, that is, a flag with the composition of the coat of arms, extended to the entire flag.

The scarlet color is a symbol of courage, courage, fearlessness, maturity, energy, vitality.
