History

Eidos PLC, which later became Eidos Interactive, was founded in 1984 as a company specializing in video compression and non-linear editing systems, especially for Acorn Archimedes computers, and placed shares on the London Stock Exchange. After a series of questions regarding rights and share price increases, Eidos PLC made a number of acquisitions in the gaming sector, starting with the acquisition of computer games by Domark Group Limited (Domark) , Simis and Big Red Software in 1995 through a takeover. At the time, Domark was known for the 3D Construction Kit , Championship Manager , Hard Drivin ' , and many other products. Domark, Simis and Big Red were merged into Eidos Interactive. In the 1990s, the company became one of the fastest growing in Europe. In February 2009, Square Enix reached an agreement to buy Eidos for $ 84,300,000 , the date was postponed, and Square Enix officially acquired Eidos on April 22, 2009. Square Enix said it would not interfere in its internal affairs, and this would allow Eidos Interactive to release games produced in its studios under its own brand. [one]
