Beamer (LaTeX)

Beamer is a class for LaTeX that allows you to create slides for presentations. Perhaps the inclusion of complex mathematical formulas, illustrations, animations. It works with pdflatex , Dvips, and LyX . It was created and until March 6, 2008 was developed by Till Tantau. From April 16, 2010 to 2015, it was developed by Vedran Miletich, from 2011 - by John Wright.

Beamer is not the first LaTeX class for creating presentations, and, like many of its predecessors (for example, the prosper package), it has special commands for defining a “slide” (in beamer it is called 'frame'), as well as an extended syntax for easy color management and the order in which the elements of the multi-part slide appear.

Created presentations can have a clearly defined structure (as they are created using LaTeX, and it is possible to highlight structural units: sections, sections, lists), which is convenient for navigating / navigating during a presentation. The structure, as well as the name of the speaker / s and the title of the report can be presented on the slide fields. Where division into frames is not entered, Beamer “cuts” the text into pages itself (according to Tex rules). It is possible to follow hyperlinks (the package is enabled by default) and define buttons for transitions. For definitions, theorems, etc., blocks (reminiscent of sticker stickers) of a certain color are drawn up. There is a set of ready-made color / structural combinations / representations, which are encoded by the names of animals / cities. In addition, since LaTeX has great potential for writing mathematical formulas, beamer presents to the user all the power of LaTeX to create scientific presentations.
