Alexander Leonidovich Klevitsky (born 1954 ) is a Russian composer and conductor, producer. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation ( 2004 ), artistic director and chief conductor of the Academic Bolshoi Concert Orchestra named after Yu.V. Silantieva. General Director of the Russian Musical Union, First Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Union of Composers of Russia, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Moscow Composers. Chairman of the Subcommittee on Entrepreneurship in the Field of Culture of the Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation on Intellectual Property.

Biography
Alexander Klevitsky was born in Moscow on May 1, 1954 .
Father - Leonid Moiseevich Klevitsky, a polygraph educator, worked as a secretary of the party organization of the publishing house of the Komsomol Central Committee " Young Guard ". Mom - Kamira Mikhailovna Feigina, graduating from the Institute of Foreign Languages (now MSLU ), worked as an English teacher.
Study and career
While studying at secondary school No. 122, Alexander was selected ( 1964 ) by Ninel Davidovna Kamburg to the Moscow Boys Choir , based in this school. Education in the chapel became decisive in the formation of further creative activity.
Received higher musical education in the specialty "conductor of an academic choir." Already a certified young man, he was called up for service in the ranks of the Soviet Army ( Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs ), where he led the divisional ensemble as the main conductor. This time was the development of his multifaceted musical abilities. He manifests himself as a composer and arranger .
In the late 1970s, the peak of popularity of vocal and instrumental ensembles . In several of them, Alexander works not only as a performer, but also as a musical director (“ Hope ” and others).
In 1979 - 1983 - musical director in the vocal and instrumental ensemble " Good fellows ." As a musician, versatile and progressive was largely an innovator in the team.
In 1983 - 1987 he taught the arrangement and conducting at the pop-jazz department of the Music College named after Gnesins (now - State Music College of pop and jazz art). For many years and to the present he is the chairman of the state examination committee of this educational institution.
In 1985, Alexander Klevitsky was invited to the USSR Composers Union as deputy chairman of the jazz-pop and song commission. (The chairman of the commission is People's Artist of the USSR, composer A.N. Pakhmutova ).
In 1986 - 1990 - chief consultant to the secretariat of the board of the Union of Composers of the USSR.
In 1988 , the US-Russian program “Music is Louder than Words” was organized. In collaboration with the American composer M. Stoller, the song “Moscow is You” was written. Subsequently, having performed this song, the American singer Pamela Miller became the laureate of the International Competition “Step to Parnassus”.
In 1997, A. Klevitsky founded on television a competition of young performers “Stairway to Heaven,” where one of the participants was a jazz orchestra he created under the name “All Stars”.
Together with Yuri Nikolaev creates the All-Russian television music contest "Morning Star".
Alexander was repeatedly invited to the jury of international music competitions, such as: “Step to Parnassus”, “ Slavic Bazaar ”, “ Eurovision ”, vocal competition in Bregenz, etc. From 2001 to 2003 he worked as a music designer for TVC television screensavers and programs.
In 2004, a book was published about the life and work of the composer “Climbing the Steps ...” by T. Zhurbinskaya (musicologist, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation).
In the spring of 2004, the composer was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation .
In December 2007, Alexander Leonidovich was appointed artistic director and chief conductor of the Academic Bolshoi Concert Orchestra. Yu. V. Silantyev.
Creativity
Alexander Klevitsky writes music in a wide variety of genres - from light pop to serious academic.
The first composer success came in the 1980s. Together with the poet Eugene Suponev, Klevitsky wrote the song “Keep People the Globe of the Earth”, performed by Joseph Kobzon .
The names of many young performers became known thanks to the songs of Klevitsky. Among them, Marina Khlebnikova and Anna Reznikova .
Klevitsky worked with young performers not only as a composer, but also as a producer .
His songs included Joseph Kobzon and Zurab Sotkilava , Tamara Gverdtsiteli , Anna Veski , Sergey Penkin , Nina Shatskaya , A'Cappella ExpreSSS, Lada Dance , Julia Nachalova , Dima Bilan , Vitas and many others in their repertoire.
The composer is co-authored by songwriters Larisa Rubalskaya , Ilya Reznik , Nikolai Denisov , Margarita Pushkina , Nikolai Dobronravov , Mikhail Shabrov , Karen Kavaleryan , Alexander Vulykh , Rimma Kozakova, Dmitry Panfilov, Yuri Ryashentsev and others.
The author of the anthem of the national television award " TEFI ", the author of the anthem of the sports society "Dynamo".
Pays attention to children's creativity. Written music for many animated films. Many songs have been written for the children's musical theater DoMiSolka . The song "Cute Adults" became a hit of the children's team.
In 2000, the children's theater project "Little Country" was created. The performance to the music of A. Klevitsky took place during the New Year holidays 2000–01 and 2001–02 at the Luzhniki Sports Palace.
Klevitsky’s music, including musical quotes from his songs (the so-called “Black Swan” in the series “A Gift to Santa Claus”), sounds in more than 200 subjects of B. Grachevsky ’s children's humorous magazine “ Jumble ”.
Great musical forms include rock operas and musicals “ Jelsomino in the country of liars ” and “Ship of Fools”.
The song “Moonlight” from the musical “Jelsomino” was performed in English and recognized as the best at the international competition of young performers in Bregenz (Austria).
In 1998, the premiere of the musical film "Angel with a Cigarette" was held on New Year's Eve. The musical consists of 13 songs that were performed by comedian Yefim Shifrin . For the actor, this work was a kind of benefit.
The music of Alexander Klevitsky sounds in many feature films and documentaries.
In 2009, the director B. Grachevsky shot the feature film “ The Roof ”, the music was written by Klevitsky. In early July 2009, Klevitsky was awarded the prize of the XIII-th All-Russian Festival of Visual Arts in the nomination "For the best soundtrack" (the film "Roof").
In co-authorship with the politician E. M. Primakov , the song “War Remains in the Song” was written.
In February 2007, at a creative evening, which was held in the Concert Hall. Tchaikovsky hosted the premiere of music written for the ballet " Shagreen Skin ".
In December 2007 he headed the Academic Bolshoi Concert Orchestra named after Yu. Silantieva.
