Biography

Christopher John Davison was born in Venado Tuerto , Argentina in the family of British diplomat Colonel Charles Davison and Irish secretary Maeve Emily de Burgh. His father’s career wound a family around the world - Malta , Nigeria , Zaire . When he was 6 years old, the family returned home to the town of Tomhaggard in Wexford County , Ireland , where his maternal grandfather, General Eric de Burgh, chief of the General Staff of India during the Second World War, bought the 12th century Bargha castle, remodeling one of its wings to the hotel. After graduating from Trinity College Dublin , Chris decided to become a singer and took his mother's maiden name.

The most famous song by Chris de Burg is The Lady in Red from Into the Light . This album, released in 1986, also included the song “For Rosanna,” dedicated to the daughter of a musician born in 1984 . In addition to his daughter, Chris has two more sons.

Chris de Burgh's songs were featured in the films Arthur 2 , American Psycho , and Bouncers . In total, more than forty million records of his songs have been sold in the world.

Chris is an avid fan of Liverpool Football Club [5] . At one time, he owned a part of the club’s shares, however, Tom Hicks and George Gillett after buying back the main block of shares of the club from David Moors in 2007 forced the rest of the shareholders, including Chris de Burgh, to sell them all the remaining securities [5] .

  • Chris is a descendant of William the Conqueror . Chris Rosanna's daughter Davison is the winner of the Miss World 2003 beauty pageant .
