History
The square is located in the Third ring of the city of Dzerzhinsk . It began to be built up in the mid-1950s. In 1960, the square was built. Residents of the city began to call this square since 1965 after the opening of the memorial in honor of the dead heroes . The square officially became known as that in 1992 after the release of the Decree of the City Hall No. 220 [1] .

Memorial to Fallen Heroes
The monument was unveiled on May 9, 1965 in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Great Victory of the USSR over Nazi Germany . The merit of creating the memorial belonged to Vasily Klyukvin [2] [3] .
