Trichodactylidae (lat.) - a family of crabs from the monotypic superfamily Trichodactyloidea from the Heterotremata subsection of the Eubrachyura section. All of them are freshwater crabs from Central and South America [2] , including some coastal islands, such as Ilhabela , in the state of São Paulo [3] . Only one of the 50 species is known by fossils, it is Sylviocarcinus piriformis from the Miocene of Colombia [4] . The family includes 15 genera in two subfamilies [5] :
