History

The company was created in 1995 under the name "Center for Corporate Development" (CC SDC since 2001) by the Moscow programmer Hussein Az-zari [1] and began developing software for handheld computers. The company released and implemented the MOTOS program (Mobile Trading System) to automate sales agents who collected orders for the supply of products and sold goods from the side of the car (the so-called van-selling ).

The program was developed for the PDA Newton MessagePad (the only handheld computer available on the Russian market at that time). The program interface was designed for minimally familiar with the computer users. It was possible to save price lists, balances of goods in the warehouse, information on the client's receivables and other information on the PDA. The information was updated at the beginning and end of the working day when synchronizing with the database of the trading company through a cable connection (due to the high cost of mobile communications). Since 2003, it became possible to synchronize with the database and through the cellular network. One of the first automated mobile sellers was the now defunct distributor of perfumes and household chemicals.

In 1999, the company opened a production department in which OPTOKEYS was assembled - a portable printer in the diplomat with a high-capacity battery, which saved sales representatives from having to carry bundles of paper documents with them, due to the ability to connect it to the PDA via infrared and print the necessary documents in place. The know-how of the CRC was to develop an electronic control unit that provides operation from the vehicle’s on-board network, optimization of the battery charge mode with autonomous power supply, electrical protection of the printer, and automatic switching of mobile devices.

In the same year, the automation program received the new name "OPTIMUM". Subsequently, versions were created for the operating systems EPOC , Palm OS , Windows CE , Windows Mobile , Android , Tizen , Sailfish Mobile OS Rus ("Aurora") .

Activities

From 1995 to 2019, CDC released more than 30 IT solutions that are successfully used for the digital transformation of companies and organizations in various sectors of the economy, including trade, transport, industry, utilities, and fuel and energy. All solutions are developed on the OPTIMUM digital technology platform.

Since 2012, the group of companies CDC and Moscow State Technical University. N.E. Bauman is developing the Center for Mobile Information Technologies of MSTU. N.E. Bauman (CMIT).

In 2016, the OPTIMUM platform was recognized as the best in the class of MEAP (Mobile Enterprise Application Platform) in the Russian IT market (study by the CECM of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation [2] ).

In January 2018, the CDC group of companies and the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation created the Institute for the Development of Digital Economics (IRCE) [3] The goal is to develop the production of Russian software. IRCE LLC is a resident of the Information Technology Cluster of the Skolkovo Foundation, specializing in the development of artificial intelligence systems.

The company is engaged in educational activities, employees give lectures to students [4] , speak to young programmers [5] [6] in order to popularize the development of software in the field of import substitution (training courses on programming for the mobile OS Sailfish Mobile OS Rus ("Aurora") were organized [7] ).

By 2018, the group of companies employs 250 people, its head office is in Moscow, there are 9 development and customer support centers in 7 cities: Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Volgograd, Vladivostok. OPTIMUM platform solutions are used by more than 5500 corporate clients, including Rosseti , Nestle , PepsiCo , Henkel , Miratorg , the Main Special Communication Center (FSUE GCCS), Mobile TeleSystems (MTS), MegaFon , Alfa-Bank and others.

Currently, 26 solutions developed on the OPTIMUM platform are included in the Unified Register of Russian Software of the Ministry of Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation [8] .

Development of solutions using machine learning technologies

In 2019, the first offline image recognition solution based on convolutional neural networks was introduced on the Russian market - OPTIMUM SkyNet Retail, which features high recognition speed by performing basic operations on a mobile device - without connecting to servers on the Internet or local network. In retail, the system instantly analyzes the goods on the store’s shelf according to the photo and gives the merchandiser recommendations for laying out, improving realograms, replacing price tags and POSM. The priority is the development of new functional capabilities of machine vision in industry, including monitoring of production equipment, in healthcare, and in transport.
