Content
Story
Storylines were kept secret until the very premiere on May 28, 2008. The film's actions unfold after the end of the series and show how the fate of the girls after.
Carrie Bradshaw and Big live a life together, and in the beginning of the movie Big buys them a flat in a magnificent penthouse. Initially, Carrie is unhappy that the shoe cabinet is very small, but Big expands it to the size of a separate room. During one of the usual cooking nights, Carrie and Big decide to get married. This happens simply “by the way”, without any special offers or rings. Her friends are very surprised, and Samantha even flies to New York from Los Angeles , where she has been living the last months with her actor friend.
Miranda has a husband, Steve, and a son. The anxiety and bustle of everyday life negates the sex life of the spouses, and Steve changes Miranda with an occasional girlfriend. Having confessed and repented, Steve asks for forgiveness. But Miranda does not want to hear anything, and they are leaving. Steve tries many times to find a way to Miranda's heart, but she ignores him, being in a terrible grudge. Meanwhile, Charlotte finds out that she is pregnant and cannot believe such happiness after many attempts to get pregnant and have a baby.
On t. “A test evening” before the wedding of Carrie and Big, everything is as perfect as possible until Miranda, having talked with Steve, does not embitter all men and throws Bigu the phrase “only mad people enter into legal marriage”. Getting Started
Rumors about the possibility of the release of the film appeared in February 2004, immediately after the end of the television series on HBO . Michael Patrick King announced that he was working on a possible scenario [1] , but because of the refusal to work in this project, actress Kim Cattroll [2] , the creation of motion pictures was postponed indefinitely. New information about the creation of the film appeared in 2007. Shooting
Filming took place in New York from September to December 2007 [4] [5] , and much effort was made to keep the plot secret. In order to avoid information leakage, several alternative endings were also captured [6] .
Clothing Design
As in the series, fashion played a significant role in the plot of the motion picture. Patricia Field , who created the costumes for the series, worked as a costume designer and for the film version [7] . The two-DVD DVD edition of the film “Extende Cut” contained extended versions of some scenes (in Russia this edition did not officially come out) [10] :

On December 9, 2008, New Line Home Entertainment released the third edition of the film, a 4-disc collection called Sex & The City: The Movie. The Wedding Collection. The collection includes an extended version of the film on the first disc; bonus materials on the second disc (- documentaries from the previous edition and three new short films about the creation of the picture); new material on the third disc and an alternative CD with music inspired by the film, as well as an alternative version of the song “Labels Or Love” by Fergie . Also in the set is a hardcover booklet with photos and quotes from the film.
The fourth edition was released exclusively in Australia - a two-disc edition of “Sex & The City: The Movie Special Edition” with a black handbag with the film's logo.
The DVD edition of the film took first place in the top sales in the UK and became the best-selling film of 2008 - about 920,000 per week. Previously, the leader was Ratatouille - 700,000 copies, which became the most successful release in the UK. However, the film Mamma Mia! Has become the best selling ever since.
