History
In the “List of Populated Places of the Russian Empire”, published in 1861, the settlement is mentioned as the village of Borovskaya ( Borovyh ) of the Mezen district (2nd camp), by the Pizhma River, located 716 versts from the county town of Mezen . There were 3 yards in the village and 16 people lived (5 men and 11 women) [2] .
As of 1920, there were 6 yards in the village and 45 people lived (23 men and 22 women). Administratively, the village was part of the Zamezhnoy society of the Pizhimoy volost of Pechora district [3] .
Geography
The village is located in the northwestern part of the Komi Republic, on the left bank of the Pizhma River, at a distance of about 25 kilometers (in a straight line) southwest of the village of Ust-Tsilma , the administrative center of the region. The absolute height is 35 meters above sea level [4] .
