Name Origin
The name was approved on February 19, 1981 in honor of Academician Boris Nikolaevich Petrov (1913-1980), a scientist in the field of automatic control, chairman of the Council for International Cooperation in the field of the exploration and use of outer space (Intercosmos) [1] [2] [3] .
