Significant public attention was paid to Agluccac during the 2009 swine flu pandemic , when hundreds of Canadians were infected with the H1N1 virus . A critic [5] of the Liberal Party’s Minister of Health subsequently stated that Aglukkak was doing an “amazing job”: he especially liked the fact that the minister phoned all opposition critics, asking them to find a consensus on the issue of swine flu [6] [7] . Another significant incident involving the Minister of Health was the incident with bags for corpses , which officials of the Canadian Ministry of Health mistakenly sent not to hospitals, but to one of the . Aglukkak strongly condemned this mistake of her subordinates, in this she was supported by representatives of the Liberal and New Democratic parties in parliament, as well as leaders of the First Nations [8] . The investigation, initiated by the Minister, did not reveal “any evidence of bad will or deliberate calculations” by an employee of the Ministry of Health, although representatives of the First Nations of Manitoba criticized the investigation report [9] .

In 2010, Aglukkak refused to sign the on Drug Policy Reform, which included, inter alia, the rejection of an explicit ban on drugs and a milder policy on drug addicts, for which it was criticized by a number of officials from the Ministry of Health. At the same time, the Minister called for a “scientific” approach to the drug problem based on harm reduction strategies , such as needle exchange programs and controlled injection sites [10] [11] .
