Shamberg, Vladimir Mikhailovich

Shamberg Vladimir Mikhailovich ( February 20, 1926 , Moscow - December 25, 2014 , Alegzandria , Virginia ), Soviet and Russian American scientist, international economist. Doctor of Economics (1971). Specialist in the US economy.

He graduated from the Moscow Institute of International Relations ( 1948 ) and graduate school of the Institute of Economics of the USSR Academy of Sciences ( 1952 ).

In 1953 - 1954 taught at the Kuibyshev Industrial Institute . In 1954 - 1959 worked at the Political Literature Publishing House ( Politizdat ).

From 1959 to 1990 he worked at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the USSR Academy of Sciences .

Since the fall of 1990, he taught at US higher education institutions, including Columbia , Georgetown and Connecticut Universities, and since the fall of 1992 , he taught at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado .

Managing editor of the reference book “World Economy” (1964, 1965, 1967).

Father of Maxim Vladimirovich Boyko . Grandson of Solomon Abramovich Lozovsky . He was married the first marriage to the daughter of a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks G. M. Malenkov Wole, the marriage was dissolved in 1949 at the initiative of the Will (according to some reports, under pressure).

In his own words, he was friends with Svetlana Alliluyeva [1] .
