Biography

Graduate of Vilnius University (1975).

Multiple participant in the championships of the Lithuanian SSR and Lithuania . Bronze medalist of the championship of the Lithuanian SSR in 1983

In the national team of the Lithuanian SSR, he participated in the All-Union Chess Olympiad in 1972, the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR in 1979 and 1983.

The winner of the Lithuanian SSR team championships in 1973, 1975 and 1983 as part of the Vilnius national team. and the Lithuanian Spartakiad in 1978. As part of the Vilnius City Chess-Drafts School team, the winner of the Lithuanian team championships in 1997, 1998 and 1999.

He achieved success in the game by correspondence . He became the winner of the championship of the Lithuanian SSR by correspondence (1972-1974). [1] He won the 26th European Championship of Correspondence (1983-1989). [2]

Since 1976 (with a break for a while in Waukegan in 1992-1995) has been working as a trainer at the Vilnius Chess and Drafts School. The most famous students are grandmasters K. Baginskaite and V. ΠΌΠΈmilite .

In 2008, he was a coach of the Lithuanian women's team . Under his leadership, the team took part in the XXXVIII Olympiad ( Dresden , 2008).
