He graduated from the St. Petersburg Electrotechnical Institute in 1992 . Until 2001, he worked in Pskov as an engineer, in various managerial positions of enterprises in the city. In 1999, he graduated from St. Petersburg State Academy of Engineering and Economics with a degree in Finance and Credit.
From 2002 to 2004, he worked as head of the divisions at FSUE National Fish Resources ( Moscow ) and the North-West Interregional Public Organization Federation of Cosmonautics of Russia ( St. Petersburg ), then in the Union Regional Rescue Service, as advisor to the General Director of Russian Institute radio navigation and time "(St. Petersburg).
In 2003 he studied at the North-West Academy of Public Administration , in 2005 he received an additional higher education in the specialty "State and Municipal Management".
In 2005–2007, he served as Deputy Governor of the Kamchatka Region , heading the local government administration offices.
After M. B. Mashkovtsev resigned as governor, Kuzmitsky was appointed May 23, 2007, and. about. Governor of the Kamchatka region. After the approval of his candidacy by the Council of People's Deputies of the Kamchatka Region and the Duma of the Koryak Autonomous District, Kuzmitsky became the governor of a new subject of the Kamchatka Territory formed on July 1, 2007. In December 2007, he was elected to the State Duma of the 5th convocation from United Russia, but he refused the mandate in favor of I. A. Yarovaya who did not pass to the Duma.
Since 2007 - member of the State Council of the Russian Federation , and in 2008 was a member of its presidium [1] .
On February 25, 2011, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev dismissed Alexey Kuzmitsky with the wording “of his own will” [2] .
March 23, 2011 he was appointed to the position of auditor of the Accounts Chamber by the decision of the State Duma on the proposal of the President of the Russian Federation [3] . Was in this position until September 2013. [four]
From 2014 to 2019, he was an advisor to the general director of Rostec Corporation.
Since January 2019, he has held the position of Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Volga Federal District [5]
