Kiev (encyclopedic directory)

Encyclopedic Handbook “Kiev” - edition of the Ukrainian Soviet Encyclopedia edited by Anatoly Kudritsky, was first published in Ukrainian in 1981 , in Russian in 1982 . This is the first universal encyclopedic publication about Kiev . The second edition of the guide was published in 1985. In 1986, the third, expanded edition came out.

The book contains more than 190 illustrations in black and white and color tabs, more than 290 illustrations in the text. The publication includes more than two and a half thousand articles.

The directory opens with an introductory essay that provides general information about the history, nature, economy and culture of Kiev.

Historians , archaeologists , art historians , workers of Kiev enterprises and institutions, employees of the Main Edition of the Ukrainian Soviet Encyclopedia took part in the preparation of the guide. Despite this, the manual contains some inaccuracies [1] . For this reason, when conducting serious research, information taken from it must be additionally verified.
