Estia [1] (Estia [2] , cargo. ეშტია ) is a village in Georgia . Belongs to the Ninotsminda municipality of Samtskhe-Javakheti Territory. It is located at the foot of an inactive stratovolcano of the same name, an extrusive lava dome with a height of 2274.7 meters above sea level [1] , a relative height of 400 meters [3] , and peaks in the southern part of the Samsar Range , southeast of the Maly Abuli volcano (Patara-Abuli), near the Paravani River [2] .

Previously, it belonged to the Akhaltsikhe district of the Tiflis province of the Russian Empire . Franks and Armenians lived in the village, whose ancestors moved from Mush (“Mshetsi-frangs”). According to 1885, 1083 residents lived in the village, there were 125 yards, there was an oil mill, two schools and the Armenian Catholic Church [2] .
