History
Until July 1, 1965, the Nadvislian military units were part of the Internal Security Corps, and after its transfer to the Ministry of National Defense remained subordinate to the Ministry of Internal Affairs [1] . When infused into the Ministry of the Interior, which was the core of the Nadwislian military unit, the Nadwislian brigade of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was named after the Nadwiślańska Brygada MSW im. Czwartaków AL battalion. In 1974, they were transformed into the Nadvislyansk military units of the MVD im. "Chetvertakov" Army Ludova .
Parts were intended to ensure the protection of state and special facilities. In 1965-2002, they continued their activities under the name of the Nadvislian State Guard Brigade. In the initial period of martial law in Poland, these units were used to capture RTV facilities as part of Operation Azalea.
During the presidency of Lech Walesa, they continued to serve in the Ministry of the Interior. During the reign of the Council of Ministers, Jan Olszewski , he was accused of trying to remove soldiers from the barracks after the announcement on June 4, 1992 of the so-called “ Matserevich list”.
The Nadwislian units were deployed in several parts of the country ( Bieszczady , Silesia , Warmia ) after, in 1992, units from the Internal Defense Forces were included in their composition. After expanding in 1992, they included, among other things, security, counter-terrorism, communications, transport and aviation regiments, as well as security, security and command units withdrawn from internal defense forces. In 2002, the Nadwislian military units were disbanded, tasks and most of the personnel were transferred to the Government Guard Bureau .
