Primkent ( Uzbek. Primkent ) is an ancient town, and now it is a village northwest of Samarkand in the territory of modern Akdarya fog in the Samarkand region of Uzbekistan .
History
Afarinkent town (Primkent, Faranket, Fremkent) was founded by the brother of the Sogdian ikhshid Gurek Afarun in the VIII century [1]
Here in 1533 the future ruler of the Bukhara Khanate, Shibanid Abdullah Khan II , was born.
Under the rule of the Uzbek Mangyt dynasty, Afarinkent was the center of the volost. [2]
Currently, the village is in the Samarkand region of Uzbekistan.
