Son of Costantino I (Salusio II). From birth - Mariano, upon accession to the throne, took the name Torcitorio II. In modern documents, it is called both this and that.
The date of inheritance is not known. In 1104, his uncle Torbeno was mentioned as a judge of Cagliari (d. No earlier than 1114). He ruled for several years. There are different versions:
- Torbeno after the death of Salusio II gained power as a result of elections, but was deposed with the help of the Genoese and Pisans;
- Torbeno became a judge during the absence of Mariano II, who could be in the Holy Land .
Torbeno was removed no later than 1107, after which he is mentioned in several documents as the closest relative of the judge. It is also known that he, at the head of the armed detachment of Cagliari, participated in the Leaning Expedition to the Bolear Islands against the Almoravids .
Little is known about the rule of Mariano II (Torkitorio II), and his name is mentioned mainly in charters for donations to the temples of Cagliari, Pisa and Genoa. He encouraged the activities of the Genoese and Pisa merchants (possibly as a reward for helping to return to the throne) in his possessions.
Wife - Preciosa de Lacacon. Son - Costantino II (Salusio III) .
