Biography
Nordin Taleb was born on June 10, 1981 in the city of Saint-Tropez, department of Var , France . It has Algerian roots [1] .
Since mixed martial arts were banned in France, at the age of 25, Taleb left to train and perform in Canada. He trained at the Tristar Gym in Montreal , and is a frequent visitor to the Tiger Muay Thai training camp in Phuket [2] [3] .
Beginning of a professional career
He made his debut in mixed martial arts on a professional level in November 2007, having won against his rival by unanimous decision. He fought in small Canadian promotions, mainly in the province of Quebec, out of most fights came out the winner.
In November 2011, he defeated American Pete Sella by TKO and thereby won the Ring of Combat Welterweight Championship [4] .
Bellator
Having six victories in the track record and only one defeat, in 2012 Taleb became a fighter of a large American organization Bellator , where he was noted for victories over such fighters as Matt Secor and Matt McGrath [5] .
He took part in the Bellator welterweight seventh season grand prix, but was already stopped at the quarter-finals stage by the Lithuanian Marius арaromskis .
The Ultimate Fighter
In 2014, Nordin Taleb participated in two seasons of the popular fighting reality show The Ultimate Fighter , but in both cases he dropped out of the fight at the preliminary stages [6] .
Ultimate Fighting Championship
Despite the unsuccessful performances in the TUF show, in the same 2014, Taleb still got the opportunity to speak at the tournament of the largest fighting organization in the world Ultimate Fighting Championship , in the first two matches by points he defeated Vic Gruich from Australia and Li Jinglian from China [7] .
In 2015, he unanimously defeated Chris Clements , but lost to Varley Alvis by change [8] .
In March 2016, he knocked out Brazilian Eric Silva [9] .
2017 began with a defeat from Santiago Ponzinibbio , but then prevailed over Oliver Encamp and Danny Roberts - in the latter case, he earned a bonus for the best performance of the evening [10] .
In 2018, he prematurely lost to Claudio Silve and Sean Strickland [11] .
In 2019, he unanimously defeated Kyle Prepolek, after which he was knocked out by Muslim Salikhov [12] .
