Silverstein (pronounced Silverstein / ˈ s ɪ l . V ə . S t iː n / ) is a post-hardcore band from the city of Burlington in the Canadian province of Ontario . It was named after the poet and children's writer Shel Silverstina . Many people refer the group to the screamo genre ( English screamo ), but its members, in particular Paul Köhler , reject involvement in this genre.

History
Group Tours
In 2005, the band performed on the Never Shave Again Tour with bands such as Aiden , Hawthorne Heights and Bayside ; it was then that John Holohan of Bayside was killed.
In January-February 2006, they toured Europe with Simple Plan . Then we visited Canada as part of the Taste of Chaos tour, and also played many concerts in Europe , Japan and Australia .
Silverstein also participated in the 2006 Vans Warped Tour, where they performed songs from their new albums: Discovering the Waterfront and EP 18 Candles: The Early Years. The latter is a compilation of the band's first albums, acoustic versions of several songs.
In the fall of 2006, Silverstein played with Aiden , It Dies Today and He Is Legend on The Never Shave Again Tour . Then they completed work on their third album and in the summer of that year made a trip with Rise Against . In the fall of the next (2007) year, they toured with From Autumn To Ashes in the United States .
The next tours were Australia and Japan in January 2008, followed by the band's first Cross-Canada tour with Protest the Hero , Ill Scarlett and The Devil Wears Prada .
In the fall of 2015, the group visited Russia with a tour in support of the last album I Am Alive In Everything I Touch , giving concerts in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Ivanovo.
