Yandarov, Vakha Omarovich

Vakha Omarovich Yandarov (born October 11, 1937, Grozny, Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic) is a Soviet and Russian mathematician. Candidate of physico-mathematical sciences, professor, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Chechen Republic.

Biography

He was born on October 11, 1937 in the city of Grozny of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. In 1960, he graduated from the Physics and Mathematics Department of the Kyrgyz State University with a degree in Mathematics, after which he began work in the field of education. After graduating from postgraduate study at Azerbaijan State University (Department of Theory of Functions and Functional Analysis) in 1967 he defended his thesis on the subject “Study of some boundary value problems of the theory of functions of a complex variable”.

In 1974-1976 he worked as a senior researcher at the Grozny State Oil Institute named after Academician M. D. Millionshchikov (now the Grozny State Oil Technical University).

In 1977-1979, Vakha Omarovich headed the Department of Mathematical Analysis at CHIGU im. L. N. Tolstoy.

In 1992, Vakha Omarovich Yandarov was awarded the title of professor, and in the same year he was elected a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Chechen Republic, where he headed the laboratory of modern mathematics. In 1993, Yandarov was appointed a professor of higher mathematics as a member of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the Chechen Republic.

In 1995-2002, Vakha Omarovich headed the created department of mathematics at Ingush State University and in fact laid the foundations for the formation of mathematical science in the Republic of Ingushetia.

In 2000-2009 he worked as vice-rector for scientific work at the Grozny State Oil Institute named after Academician M.D. Millionshchikov (now Grozny State Oil Technical University). From 2010-2014 - Advisor to the Rector of GSTU.

Over the years of scientific activity, Yandarov published more than 190 scientific works, 14 monographs, 3 study guides, wrote works in various fields of functional analysis, the theory of functions of a real variable, classical mathematical analysis, calculus of variations, and numerical analysis. But his main works were connected with Banach spaces.

For impeccable conscientious work, successes in organizing and improving the educational process, Vakha Omarovich Yandarov was awarded the honorary title “Honored Science Worker of the Chechen Republic” (2007) and the title of Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation (2007). He was also awarded the Veteran of Labor medal (2007), the honorary badge “For Labor Distinction” (2010), the Certificate of Merit of the Head of the Chechen Republic, etc.
