Biography
Campbell was born in Dublin and attended Sutton Park School, then enrolled at Ulster University , where he received his bachelor's degree in 1996, and at the Glasgow School of Art , where he received a master's degree in art in 1998 [2] . He was born into a wealthy family and is the heir to a fortune of 60 million euros. His father, Paddy Campbell, a businessman who became a sculptor, built a successful catering company, which was ultimately bought by Aramark for 64.5 million euros. His parents have been on the wealthy list of Sundey Independent for several years [5] .
Creativity
In 2008, he was awarded the Bâloise Prize. [2] In 2013, Campbell was one of three artists selected to represent Scotland at the Venice Biennale . [3]
On December 1, 2014, it was announced that he won the 2014 Turner Prize [4] for the video work “This is for Others” - a work that reflects African art and includes a dance sequence inspired by Karl Marx [3] .
