Biography
Artist Sakit Mammadov was born on August 5, 1958 in Azerbaijan, in the city of Neftchala. From 1974 to 1978 he studied at the Azerbaijan State Art College named after Azim Azimzade, which he graduated with honors. In 1981 he entered the St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts named after I.E. Repin at the faculty of painting, which he graduated with honors in 1987. Married, has two sons and a daughter, three granddaughters and a grandson. Children continued the work of father-famous artists.
Creativity
Sakit Mammadov is the founder of the Opalism style. The author of more than 7 directories. Sakit Mammadov's works are exhibited in many prestigious galleries in the world. He is a participant in exhibitions in the USA, Germany, France, Italy, Turkey, Belgium, Russia, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Poland, Austria, Hungary and other countries. Exhibitions of his paintings and his students are repeatedly held in Europe. The artist’s works are in private collections of famous personalities and in museums around the world. Taking into account the merits of Sakit Mammadov both in Azerbaijan and in Europe, the EAEN made the anniversary stamp “S. Mammadov”, and from the series “Great People” of the Academy, the medal “Sakit Mammadov” (2017) was made by the decision of the European Scientific Community.
