Story
The first season introduces us to the 17-year-old Clay Jansen, who once, returning home from school, finds a mysterious box on his porch. Inside, he discovers thirteen audio tapes recorded by Hannah Baker, his late classmate who committed suicide two weeks earlier. On these tapes, Hannah recorded a very emotional audio diary, describing in detail why she decided to balance her life. It seems that every person who receives this box with old-fashioned ribbons is mainly related to why she killed herself. Clay is not the first to receive tapes, but there are implied details as to how he should transmit tapes after listening to them. Apparently, there are several more boxes with additional copies of audio cassettes that are held by the person responsible for their distribution if something suddenly goes wrong. Each tape recording refers to a person involved in the life of Hannah, who pushed her to suicide. Audio recordings are designed for both friends and enemies.
