Biography
The daughter of a successful banker and art connoisseur. She grew up in a cultural, comfortable environment in Sherbrooke. She studied at private tutors.
She went to the United States , where she specialized in literature, studied the violin, and later traveled to Europe . At age 27, she married an electrical engineer from Scotland and moved to Toronto .
She died as a result of complications after the operation on September 28, 1944 in Montreal.
Creativity
She made her debut in 1913.
Author of poetry collections “Moonlight and a clear day” (192), “Patterns of sleep”. She preferred a white verse and vers libre , although she owned a strict rhyme. Along with major poems, L. Bowman created a series of laconic one-strophenic poems characteristic of the Anglo-American school of imaginists.
