Louis-Marie Adolph Olivier Edouard Joubin ( fr. Louis Marie Adolphe Olivier Édouard Joubin January 27, 1861 - April 24, 1935 ) - French zoologist, professor at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris . He published works on nemerthins , bristle-maxillary , cephalopods and other mollusks [1] .

Scientific activity
He served as an assistant to the famous French zoologist Henri de Lacaz-Dutier . In 1882 he became director of the laboratories in Banyul-sur-Mer , and in 1884 - the biological station in Roscoff . Later he became an instructor at the University of Rena [2] , and in 1903 he replaced Edmond Perrier as director of the mollusk, worms and zoophytes department at the National Museum of Natural Sciences (since 1917, after the division, the director of the mollusk department). In 1905, he was appointed president of the Zoological Society of France. In 1920, he became a member of the French Academy of Sciences [2] .
The squid Joubiniteuthis portieri [3] and the sponge Scolymastra joubini , whose life expectancy is estimated at 10 thousand years [4], are named after Jubin.
