History
The drivers in Tverskoy Yamskaya Sloboda, which occupied a large space on both sides of the Tver Road, provided transportation of mail, passengers and cargo first along the Moscow- Tver route, then Moscow -St . Petersburg . Sloboda retained its character until the second half of the XIX century, but after the end of the Yamskoye chase and construction in 1870 of Smolensk (now Belorussky Station ), active development of the Tverskoy-Yamskikh Street began.
