The Church in the name of Archangel Michael is an Orthodox church on the territory of the Ob-HPP microdistrict in the Soviet district of Novosibirsk .

Old Temple
Even before the advent of the new church in the 1990s, there was a wooden church built in 1914 (according to other sources - in 1913 [1] ) in the Nizhnechemskaya village , located on the territory of the modern Ob- HPP microdistrict. As well as the modern temple, it was named after Archangel Michael [2] .
In 1935-1937, the church was closed, in 1940, by the decree of the Novosibirsk Oblast Executive Committee No. 91, its building was transferred to the club, and in 1953, during the creation of the site for the construction of the Novosibirsk hydroelectric dam, it was demolished. A club was built from the logs of the former church in the village of Kommuna [2] .
New Temple
In 1992, with the blessing of the Bishop of Novosibirsk and Berdsk Tikhon (Emelyanov) , an Orthodox community began to be created at the ObGES. Archpriest Alexander Novopashin was temporarily appointed chairman of the parish council. Tikhon turned to the city archive to find out the name of the destroyed temple, and found out that it was named after Archangel Michael and was located to the left of the dam behind the bas-relief [2] .
In 1993, an area of 0.43 ha was allocated for the construction of the temple [2] .
In May 1996, the foundation stone of a large church was consecrated by Bishop of Novosibirsk and Berdsky Sergius (Sokolov) . Throughout the summer, the construction of a small church was carried out, the refectory was also laid the foundation of a new temple. In September 1996, divine services were already held in a small church, which was expanded in 1997. This year, a two-story building was also built, which housed a Sunday school , refectory , library and utility rooms [2] .
In April 1999, six bells were brought from the Urals by the father Valery to the church; in addition, in the summer of this year, they began to build walls for the new church [2] .
In September 2000, gilded domes with crosses were installed [2] .
In the summer of 2001, an iconostasis was ordered in St. Petersburg, which was delivered on May 8, 2003 [2] .
Consecration of the Temple
On June 29, 2003, the Archbishop of Novosibirsk and Berdsky Tikhon consecrated the temple. The ceremony was attended by priests and monks, regional and city leaders: the governor of the Novosibirsk region Viktor Tolokonsky , the mayor of Novosibirsk Vladimir Gorodetsky , etc. After the consecration, Vladyka Tikhon rewarded the people who took part in the creation of the church. On behalf of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II, Maria Nikolaevna Dolnikova was awarded the Order of Equal-to-the-Apostles Princess Olga of the III degree , others were awarded letters [2] .
Style
The temple was built in the style of Novgorod, Pskov and Moscow churches of the XVI-XVII centuries [2] .
Temple Monastery
On March 23, 2001, the monastery of the Holy Martyr Eugene [2] moved to the temple.
