Zuiderdoynties ( niderl. Zuiderduintjes , literally: small southern dunes) - an uninhabited island in the Wadden Sea as part of the West Frisian Islands . This is one of the three islands belonging to the province of Groningen in the Netherlands . Located south of the island of Rottumerog .

The island is part of the Rottum Nature Reserve, so free access to the island is prohibited.
Geography
Söderdöynties belongs to the Emsmond community in the province of Groningen in the Netherlands. It is located off the mainland coast of Groningen, south of the island of Rottumerog, east of the island of Rottumerplat and west of the island of Borkum (belongs to Germany ).
Its area was 57 hectares in 1995 and 74 hectares in 2007. [one]
History
Söderdöyntjes was part of the Rottumerog island, but separated from it around 1930 and has since shifted further to the southeast. [2] [3]
Reserve
Söderdöyntyes is part of the Rottum Nature Reserve. Visiting the island is prohibited, as it is a resting place and feeding birds and seals. [one]
