Biography

Fedotov Mikhail Afanasevich was born on December 12, 1929 in Yakutsk in a working class family. By nationality - Yakut .

In 1938 he remained an orphan, was brought up in a republican orphanage.

Graduated from 7 classes; Then he studied at the school of factory training ( FZO ) of the city of Yakutsk , specializing in: carpenter. In the same group, two more future Heroes of Socialist Labor were trained with him (MF Alekseev [1] and MS Sergeev [2] ).

  • June 1944 - all three of them went to work in a team of carpenters in the Yakutstroy trust;
  • 1949 - participated in the construction of the first in Yakutsk oil rig with a height of 42 meters.
  • 1955 - M.A. Fedotov headed the Komsomol youth brigade of carpenters in the Yakutstroy trust of the Yakutsk State Economic Council, which he soon led to the forefront.

After the courses of foremen at the Khabarovskstroy trust M.A. Fedotov led a comprehensive team, in which, in addition to concrete workers, masons and carpenters, there were specialists in the field of finishing and other works.

The brigadier himself, being a high-class carpenter, perfectly mastered several construction professions, not content with the brigadier responsibilities, worked along with everyone, setting a personal example.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of August 9, 1958, for outstanding achievements in the construction and building materials industry, Mikhail Afanasevich Fedotov was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Hammer and Sickle Medal.

  • 1961-1964 - following the initiative of V.I. Gaganova , brigade leader M.A. Fedotov repeatedly moved to the lagging brigades and brought them to the forefront.

Community Activities

Mikhail Afanasevich - member of the CPSU since 1956. He was elected:

  • member of the Yakutsk regional committee of the CPSU;
  • member of the Yakut city committee of the CPSU;
  • Yakutsk Regional Council of Trade Unions;
  • Republican Committee of National Control.

Personal life

He lived in the city of Yakutsk ; passed away in 1998 [ when? ] .
