Jean Servet ( French: [sɛʁvɛ] ; (September 24, 1910 - February 17, 1976) Belgian film and theater actor [1] , worked in French cinema from the 1930s to the early 1970s.

Career
Jean Servay studied at the Belgian Drama Arts Conservatory, where he was awarded the second prize. His acting skills attracted the attention of Raymond Rulot . Cervais was invited to work at the Marais Theater, where he played in the play Le mal de jeunesse , which was a success in Brussels and in Paris . Servet was also a member of the troupe of Jean-Louis Barrot [1] .
His first film role was the role of a simple villager who fell victim to a miscarriage of justice in the film Criminel (1932) (directed by Jack Forrester). In the 1930s, Servé continued to act in films, playing roles in such films as La Chanson De L'Adieu (1934) and La Vie Est Magnifique (1938). After a break in acting caused by the Second World War , he returned to work on the screen, playing in films such as La Danse De Mort (1948).
In the 1950s, Servée starred in the crime drama Men's Showdown (1955) [1] [2] directed by Jules Dassin [2] [3] where he played the role of leader of a gang of pearl thieves [2] [3] [4] . Film critic Francois Truffaut considered this film to be the best in the noir genre [3] .
In 1957, Servet starred in another film directed by Jules Dassin's He Who Must Die (Celui qui doit mourir) . He also starred in Louis Bunuel's film La fièvre monte à El Pao (1959) (Bunuel was directed and directed by a writer).
In the 1950s and 1960s, Servé returned to the troupe of the Renault Baro Theater to play in several plays such as La Répétition ou l'Amour puni (1950), Volpone (1955), and Marat / Sade (1966).
In the 1960s, Servay took part in major international projects. He played a small role as Rear Admiral | Gignard in the film Longest Day (1962) and in The Man from Rio (1964). He also played in the films O Le Sahara brûle (1961), Un Soir Par Hasard (1964) and Avec la peau des autres (1966).
In the early 1970s, he played in the films The Devil's Nightmare (1971) and in the Italian horror series and in the film Le Protecteur (1974).
He was married to Gilbert Grello, then to actress Dominic Blanchard [1] (the marriage broke up in 1976).
Jean Servette died on February 17, 1976 in Paris from heart failure at the age of 65, after surgery. He was buried at the Passy Paris cemetery .
