The official premiere of the film took place in London on November 2, 2011, and on November 3 a picture was released with bonus interviews on DVD and Blu-ray [1] [3] . In his review, a reviewer of the newspaper Weser Kurier wrote: “Colleagues and family members of Jackson talk about the personality of the musician, share funny stories and try to dispel the prevailing misconceptions. The director managed to draw a neutral and trustworthy image of a great artist ” [5] . According to the journalist, the publication of the film on the discs did not provide the optimum quality: a slight image noise is visible on the video, and the participants ’speech sometimes seems too loud [5] . The reviewer of Whysoblu.com put “Life of Pop Icons” a mixed assessment, the journalist noted that the film highlighted all aspects of the singer’s life, including scandalous and ambiguous, but the documentary seems incomplete without fragments of video clips and Jackson’s concerts: “Most of this material It’s connected with his childhood years, while such a career take-off as Off the Wall is not mentioned at all, and very little attention is paid to the Thriller album ” [4] .
