Connection History
Shortly before the collapse of the USSR, the 17th separate special-purpose brigade of the USSR Navy was reorganized into the 1464th naval intelligence point.
After the declaration of independence of Ukraine , on April 9, 1992 , more than two-thirds of the officers and one hundred percent of the remaining military personnel of the 1464th naval reconnaissance unit, led by the commander, Captain 1st Rank Anatoly Leonidovich Karpenko , took the oath of allegiance to the people of Ukraine [1] . Soon the unit returned the status of the brigade - it became the 7th separate brigade of special operations of the Ukrainian Navy.
At present, the “Ukrainian” history of this unit has enough examples of the successful use of special operations forces. In August - September 1992 , the team of the Special Operations Group of the brigade together with a special unit of the SBU "Alpha" provided delivery from Canada to Ukraine of "hryvnia" cargo on the dry cargo ship "Petr Aleinikov" (operation "Shield of Ukraine") [2] .
Ochakov divers distinguished themselves during the liquidation of a major accident in the gutter in Kharkov , during numerous underwater clearance - they destroyed torpedoes near Odessa , air bombs in the area of the Kherson elevator , mines from the First World War at the mouth of the Danube near Izmail , etc. [3]
In 2004 , a part was relocated from Pervomaisky Island to the territory of one of the military towns of the Ochakov garrison.
