Career

Victor Khryapa began his career in the Saratov Avtodor under the leadership of Vladimir Rodionov. Unlike the elder brother Nikolay Khryapa, who played for the Ukrainian team, Victor retained the right to play for the Russian team. As a player of Avtodor Khryapa, along with a friend, Sergey Money, became leaders of the Russian youth team . After Khryapa's debut in the senior national team at the 2002 World Cup, he moved to CSKA . On June 28, 2006, the day of the draft 2006, he was exchanged at the Chicago Bulls with Tyrus Thomas for the rights to Lamarcus Aldridge . Unlike Nate Macmillan , who led the Oregon team, Bulls coach Scott Skiles did not trust the Russian, in two seasons he took part in only 42 matches, while getting 7 minutes of playing time, and the rest either did not go to the court or didn’t hit in the application.

In the summer of 2007, agent Khryapa, with the support of CSKA Moscow, began negotiations with Portland to buy the forward contract, and on February 7, 2008, Viktor became a player in the army until 2012 [1] [2] . On June 25, 2018, it became known that Khryapa left CSKA. As part of the team, Victor spent 611 matches (the leader in the club’s history), of which 422 were in the starting lineup, on average scored 6.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.2 interceptions and 0.7 block shots in 20.7 minutes on average per game. As a member of CSKA, Viktor won 2 Euroleague titles, 13 - the Russian champion, 8 - the VTB United League champion. He was selected in the first (2009/2010) and second (2012/2013, 2013/2014) symbolic fives of the Euroleague, recognized as the best player in the Euroleague defense plan (2009/10), MVP playoffs of VTB United League (2013), MVP play- off BEKO PBL (2010/2011), named the best player in Russia (2013) according to the version of "Soviet Sport" (prize of Alexander Gomelsky) and "Sport Express".
