Biography
Ivan Razumov was born in 1972 in Moscow. He grew up in a family associated with art: grandfather - the famous Soviet graphic artist Fyodor Konstantinov , known to all Soviet people in the picture "Mtsyri, fighting with Bars" in the "native speech" 7th grade. Uncle - production designer Vladimir Lykov. All TV shows of the 1970-80s he designed. He is an artist of films such as The Adventures of Electronics and Sorcerers, for example. On the mother’s side, the family was all artists - architects, animators, painters, stage designers and graphic artists. Ivan's father is a nuclear physicist who has worked all his life in closed scientific institutes of the military-industrial complex of the USSR. [2]
Razumov studied at the theater and decoration departments: in 1987-1991 - at the Art College in memory of 1905 , since 1991 - at the V.I. Surikov .
The second half of the 90s was spent mainly in St. Petersburg. [3]
Creativity
The main leitmotifs of creativity are the clash, conflict and erotization of the images of Soviet, New-Russian and Western European cultures. The plot is based on allusions to cinematic and literary episodes, psychoanalytic theories, political and social events, myths of popular culture. The art world of Razumov is grotesque, sarcastic and at the same time nostalgic and a little sad.
Razumov managed to work with the main conceptualist art groups of the 1990s, including Medical Hermeneutics [4] , FenSo , Cabinet and PG . [5]
In 2016, he took part in the Vladey auction “Everything for 100”. At such events it is forbidden to take photos of participants, so the organizers asked Ivan to sketch the tenders. [6]
Illustration
Ivan Razumov is known for his drawings to the works of Pushkin , Mayakovsky , medieval Japanese literature - Say-Sionagon and Matsuo Basho . According to critics, the style of Razumov is distinguished by its sophisticated technique, thoughtfulness and attention to detail. [7]
In 2004, Victor Mazin published the book "Introduction to Lacan" with drawings by Razumov. [8] Located in the fund of the Museum of Modern Art “Garage”. In 2009, Ivan illustrated the cover of the first issue of a new psychoanalytic magazine edited by Mazin "Lacanalia." In 2010, a team of initiators developed the concept of pocket yoga guides and released the first book in this series. The artist participated in the creation of three books by the famous Russian actress and writer Tatyana Bronzova . In 2009, it became "Venus in Russian Furs", in 2010 - "On the Road for a Dream" and, finally, in 2014 - "Fuet for the Colonel".
In 2015, Ivan's illustrations appeared in John Perry’s book, The Art of Procrastination: How to Time, Shake and Put It Off Tomorrow, translated into Russian by Dmitry Simanovsky. Moscow appears before the viewer, as the artist sees it: a dilapidated city, flora and fauna that captured streets and a man subdued by the elements. - 2015 from July 1 to August 5 - the first solo exhibition of paintings “10 Dreams about Moscow” in the Regina Gallery at the Center for Contemporary Art Winery. - 2014 from June 28 to September 5 - personal exhibition "Drawn Dreams of the Animated Machine" at the Sigmund Freud Dream Museum in St. Petersburg . The exhibition consisted of sketches and sketches. Most of them were created by the artist spontaneously, without the characteristic scrupulousness for him, they were not conceived as material for the exposition.
