History

The children's railway was built in the summer of 1956 and was tested on the Day of the Miner , the official opening took place on May 1, 1957 .

Initially, the length of the road was 1800 meters and there were two stations: Komsomolskaya (now Arman), where the road was located, and Pionerskaya.

In the 1980s, a new section was built in the form of a loop south of the Pionerskaya station and a new station was opened near the zoo .

The Children's Railway operated as an educational institution until the end of the 2001 season. In the fall of 2001, it was removed from the balance of the national railway company “ Kazakhstan Temir Zholy ” and mothballed.

In 2004 , in honor of the centenary of the railways of Kazakhstan , the children's railway resumed work as an attraction .

In 2006, the movement was again stopped. In 2007 , reconstruction was carried out in order to resume movement. On May 1, 2008 , the children's railway resumed its work.

Rolling stock

Rolling stock has changed many times. From the beginning, the only locomotive was a steam locomotive . In the early 1960s, it was replaced by a diesel locomotive TU2-115. In the early 1970s, the rolling stock fleet was replenished with the TU2-037 diesel locomotive. In the late 1980s, the railway received a diesel locomotive TU2-111, previously owned by the Kustanai Railway, which is still in operation.
