History

An emotional versatile song [5] , “Robbery” was described by Complex as “a woman stealing the heart of Juice” [3] , and how Juice takes revenge on her by consuming liquor. [6] [7]

The single was produced by Nick Mira, who also produced the multi-platinum certified single Juice " Lucid Dreams " [8] . Rolling Stone described the song as “dark and melodramatic,” calling it “a clumsy metaphor for a woman demanding love” from Juice. [9]

Lyrically, the first verse discusses Juice's father’s comparison, advising him not to reveal his insecurity to women and his heart’s position to the contrary. [9]

XXL marked the song as "a heartfelt love track that left Juice broken and embarrassed" [10] , while Highsnobiety defined it as "a melancholy cry for past love." [11] [12]

Music video

The official music video for the song was posted on Valentine's Day on the YouTube channel Lyrical Lemonade, owned by Cole Bennett, who produced several other Juice music videos. [eight]

Bennett was known for “bringing his blurred eye effects” to Robbery’s video and “providing him the same bulging visual energy from Lucid Dreams” [3] Artistically the video was described as having “bursts of flame” in many scenes without the neon and deforming effects of Bennett's signature. [3]

HipHopDX described the plot as an emo chorus of Juice, being "surrounded by a background of fire." [13]

According to the plot, Juice is shown drinking a bottle of Hennessy while walking around her ex-girlfriend’s wedding with another person to “drown out the pain” and “cope with the agony” [8] . Soon after, leaving, he throws his burning cigarette at the flower that the guest holds, ultimately causing the destruction of the venue. [eight]
