Ranjbar ( azerb. Rəncbər ) is a village in the Ranjbar administrative-territorial district of Adjikabul region of Azerbaijan .

Etymology

The word ranger in translation from Farsi means a plowman , the village was named so because it was founded by the plowmen [1] .

History

The village of Ranjbarlar in 1886, according to the administrative-territorial division of the Baku province, belonged to the Ranjbarlar rural community of the Jevat district [2] .

The village of Ranjbarlar in 1913, according to the administrative-territorial division of the Baku province, belonged to the Ranjbarlar rural community of the Shemakha district [3] [4] .

In 1926, according to the administrative-territorial division of the Azerbaijan SSR, the village belonged to the diving of Kubali-Bala-Oglan of the Shamakhi district.

After the reform of administrative division and the abolition of counties in 1929, the Ranjbar Village Council was formed in the Karasuinsky district of the Azerbaijan SSR . Later, the district was abolished, the village became part of the Ali-Bayramlinsky district, but in 1939 the village was transferred to the Kazi-Magomedsky district.

On December 4, 1959, the Kazi-Magomed district was liquidated, and the village was transferred to the Ali-Bayramlinsky district.

According to the administrative division of 1961, the village of Ranjbar was part of the Ranjbar village council of the Ali-Bayramlinsky district of the Azerbaijan SSR [5] , in 1963 the village was transferred to the Salyan region [6] .

On April 24, 1990, the village was transferred to the newly formed Adzhikabul region.

In 1999, administrative reform was carried out in Azerbaijan and the Ranjbar municipality of the Adzhikabul region was established within the Ranjbar administrative-territorial district [7] .

Geography

The village is located 20 km from Adzhikabul district center and 112 km from Baku . The nearest train station is Pirsaat.

The village is located at an altitude of 41 meters above sea level.

In 1886, 1,116 people lived in the village, all of them were Azerbaijanis, by religion - Shiite Muslims.

The population is mainly engaged in animal husbandry.

In Soviet times, the Ranjbar Dairy State Farm, a secondary school, a club, a library, a kindergarten, a medical center were located in the village, and poultry farms were located near the village [11] .
