Biography

Son of Guglielmo de Pazzi and Bianchi Medici. Born March 4, 1483 in Florence.

From a young age he was distinguished by his literary interests, tried to stay away from politics, although - being a member of his family - he took part in it,

He attended the philosophy school of Francesco Cattani da Diaccheto and Marcello Adriani. Probably, given his literary and linguistic interests, his participation in the circle of Orti Oricellari.

Pazzi's first political introduction is a speech written in 1522 at the request of Giulio Medici, with praises of the Venetian system,

After 1522 (that is, a conspiracy against Giulio Medici), Pazzi Medici returned to work with literary texts. In subsequent years, he wrote his main work, Dido in Carthage, as well as a translation from Greek into Latin of Iphigenia in Taurida by Euripides (1524) and Oedipus Rex by Sophocles (1525). There are manuscripts with a translation of "King Oedipus" into Italian.
